Items will be donated to the infants and families who stay at Interval House – a shelter for families fleeing from violence. baby on the hip was happy to donate to Habitat for Humanity’s Philanthroparty on Thursday Aug 30 at the Shamba Foundation. This event hosted by HGTV’s Design Guys was not only fun with great prizes and music, but all the money raised went to the building of new homes for people all over the world. Plastic Ain’t My Bag Campaign
baby on the hip has joined this campaign through the We are What We Do organization in Canada. This campaign encourages retailers and consumers to refuse plastic bags whenever possible and to instead use one of several alternatives. For more information, please visit www.wearewhatwedo.ca

 

 

Coady Ave Street Party in support of Woodgreen Community Services
Coady Ave’s annual street party was able to raise hundreds of dollars for Woodgreen Community Services’ programs. Woodgreen is an important contributor to the Leslieville area, offering hundreds of programs for families, seniors, addictions, and people living with mental illness. Fred Victor Centre Annual Gala: Cirque du Coeur October 25, 2007
The Fred Victor Centre provides numerous resources for marginalized women, including those who are homeless or disadvantaged and those dealing with issues of mental health. Some of the services provided include housing, employment options, health care services, and life skills opportunities. baby on the hip's silent auction donation helped Fred Victor to surpass it's fundraising goals to raise $135,000 the night of the gala.


 

Pape Ave PS Hoot and Howl Oct 30th, 2007
baby on the hip donated the silent auction at Pape Avenue Public School’s Hoot and Howl even on Oct 30th. This event helps the school raise the much needed funding for programs and materials that are not within the school’s city budget.


 

 

South Riverdale Child-Parent Centre’s Sin City Event Nov 10th, 2007
South Riverdale’s Child-Parent Centre, located in the Ralph Thorton Centre, has been servicing the families of Riverdale for over 25 years. baby on the hip is pleased to help with their Sin City on The South Side event with a donation to their silent auction.

 

 

Environmental Defence’s Rally to Ban BPA Nov 20th, 2007
Environmental Defence hosted a rally at Queen’s Park Lawn on Tuesday Nov 20th from 10am-11am. Environmental Defence is calling on the McGuinty Government to Ban BPA in baby bottles and other products. baby on the hip sat on the planning committee for the rally and also presented at the rally with some free giveaways. Toronto Green Community Annual Green Tie Gala Nov 27th, 2007
Toronto Green Community is an organization that organizes and implements projects that help to make Toronto a Greener city.
